Claude Guillemot: Ubisoft founder killed in plane crash

The founder of Ubisoft, the gaming company behind Assassin's Creed, has been killed in a plane crash.

Claude Guillemot and a flight instructor were both killed when the twin-motor Cessna 421 they were travelling in crashed into a field near La Baule-Escoublac Airport, western France.

He was 65 years old.

Ubisoft, which is also behind games such as Just Dance - along with the Rayman and Tom Clancy game franchises - confirmed Guillemot's death but did not comment further.

Guillemot and his four brothers, Yves, Michel, Gérard and Christian, founded Ubisoft in 1986.
